چکیده
Abstract Background The ecotoxicological risk posed by metals and their mixtures in sediments depends on bioavailability. Many methods for evaluating the bioavailability of sediments/soils are time-consuming expensive, frequently result equivocal outcomes. diffusive gradients thin films (DGT) technique is a good measure that can avoid above drawbacks. Therefore, more effective approaches to this method should be developed focus metal No studies have been conducted using DGT assess aquatic biota sediments. This study therefore first attempt sediment toxicity based technique. intertidal zone Pearl River Estuary selected as case study. Results bioavailable (DGT-labile) concentrations range follows (μg/L): Cd, 0.34–3.62; Pb, 1.35–1.92; Ni, 0.67–92.83; Cu, 0.74–10.30; Zn, 28.60–296.94; Co, 0.03–58.85; Fe, 7.23–4539.36; Mn, 19.40–6626.83. quotient (RQ), which ratio between measured environment (MEC) predicted no-effect concentration (PNEC), evaluate single risk. RQ summing up MEC/PNEC ratios (RQ ) sum toxic units STU used mixture. TheRQ values Mn significantly exceed 1, indicating adverse effects not negligible. Regarding mixtures, both 62.45 743.48, revealing possible has already occurred area. Conclusions two DGT-labile suitable estimate

The Diffusive Gradients in Thin Films Technique (DGT) for Trace Metals versus Active Sampling
The diffusive gradient in thin films (DGT) technique is an in situ passive sampling method that is designed to accumulate labile metal species in environmental systems. DGTs were applied for the determination of time integrated concentrations of low level dissolved metals in waters in areas of ecological concern. The data revealed heavy metal contamination of waters and tracked the contaminatio...
متن کاملAssessment of mercury bioavailability to benthic macroinvertebrates using diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT).
Mercury-specific diffusive gradient in thin films (DGTs) were used in laboratory microcosms as a biomonitoring tool to assess the lability of mercury (Hg) total and monomethylmercury Hg (MeHg), and to develop a relationship between chemical lability and bioavailability in estuarine sediments. Time-series deployment of DGTs in sediments showed that sediment-bound MeHg is more labile than sedimen...
متن کاملIn situ speciation measurements . Using diffusive gradients in thin films ( DGT ) to determine inorganically and organically complexed metals *
The possibilities of using diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) and anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) to perform speciation measurements in natural waters are discussed. Both techniques measure labile species, but different approaches have been used to discriminate organic (Corg) and inorganic (Cinorg) metal complexes. In DGT, metals are bound to a resin after passing through a hydrogel tha...

15 صفحه اولa frame semantic approach to the study of translating cultural scripts in salingers franny and zooey
the frame semantic theory is a nascent approach in the area of translation studies which goes beyond the linguistic barriers and helps us to incorporate cognitive and cultural factors to the study of translation. based on rojos analytical model (2002b), which centered in the frames or knowledge structures activated in the text, the present research explores the various translation problems that...
